Wetzel’s Pretzels Celebrates National Pretzel Day With Free Giveaways on April 26
April 23, 2025
Wetzel’s Pretzels is helping its inflation-weary customers celebrate National Pretzel Day on April 26 by giving away countless goodies, including free pretzels.
Per a press release from the company, every fan who visits a participating location from 3 p.m. until closing time will get a free original pretzel with no purchase necessary. There is a limit of one free pretzel per customer, and upgrades to the pretzels are extra.
National Pretzel Day also falls on the company’s 30th anniversary, so Wetzel’s Pretzels has been leading up to the date by offering in-app savings for customers. From a free dip with any purchase to a $2 Original Pretzel, the chain has been providing great deals to its customers this month.
One deal that’s still available until April 25 is the Home Run: Buy one pretzel item, get one free. Customers can redeem the deal in person, online, or on the rewards app with code HOMERUN.
“We love celebrating National Wetzel Day each year, and this year we can’t wait to delight our fans with a hot, fresh pretzel — no strings attached,” said Peyton Geyser, director of marketing of Wetzel’s Pretzels. “Whether stopping by for a free pretzel on April 26 or enjoying one of our exclusive app deals throughout the month, we’re making sure everyone can get in on the fun and be a part of Team Wetzel’s. Wetz Play Ball!”
Wetzel’s Pretzels Twisted Concept
In 2023, Wetzel’s Pretzels introduced a new concept to the market: Twisted by Wetzel’s.
According to Business Insider at the time, Twisted by Wetzel’s menu included ice cream served in sugar-coated pretzel cones, hot dogs served in pretzel buns, and savory or sweet loaded pretzel fries topped with bacon or s’mores.
The chain’s mainstream stores are mostly shopping mall fixtures (40% in California) and store-within-a-store positions within certain shops.
The new store model was intended for standalone locations in college towns and outdoor “power center” shopping areas popular with Gen Zers and millennials.
