SlimFast Relaunches in UK With Star-Studded Taste Test Competition

May 5, 2025

SlimFast is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in the UK, and it has relaunched with a star-studded taste test competition.

In a press release announcement, the longtime diet shake revealed that, in a humorous take on the iconic talent show, SlimFast has put its taste credentials to the test. In a tongue-in-cheek video, TV personality Kelly Brook, MC Big Narstie, and the iconic Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan replace their day jobs as the judging panel, hosting auditions to find the country’s most talented taste testers. The panel pays playful homage to the noughties and today’s talent shows, watching several eccentric contestants showcase their unique tasting talents, ranging from the bizarre to the brilliant.

Keisha talked candidly about her health journey while working with Kelly and Narstie. She disclosed how the COVID-19 lockdown affected her weight and prompted her to pay more attention to her exercise and wellness regimen. Due to her hectic touring schedule after The Sugababes’ return, Keisha discovered that SlimFast offered her a quick and easy solution to improve her nutrition and aid her weight loss objectives without compromising flavor.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the SlimFast crew,” she said. “Swapping the stage for the judging panel was so much fun. Kelly, Narstie and I had a ball putting the contestants’ to the test and seeing such weird and wonderful talents! When I gained some weight during the pandemic, SlimFast was part of my health journey to get back to my goal size and made it so easy to stay consistent. “

SlimFast Isn’t as Popular in the US

Though SlimFast originated in the United States, it doesn’t enjoy the popularity that it once did. Instead, food marketers are attempting to develop their diet fads by producing goods that make consumers feel full after consuming them, as many of them were “a day late and a dollar short” in the past.

Companies like Nestlé, Unilever, and Kraft Foods have experimented with unique starches and fiber sources over the years that help people feel full so they can stop eating long enough to lose some weight.

“When we launched [Lean Cuisine], it was all about low calories, leg warmers and Jane Fonda,” Brett White, head of marketing for Nestlé’s Lean Cuisine, said in 2006. “Then it was about low cholesterol and low fat — the cycles are happening faster and faster.”
