US Inflation Rose 2.7% in December
U.S. inflation remained well over the Federal Reserve’s target rate of 2% in December, on an annual basis, reaching 2.7%. “The Bureau of Labor Statistics said on Tuesday that the CPI – a broad measure of how much everyday goods like gasoline, groceries and rent cost – rose 0.3% on a monthly basis in December and held steady at 2.7% on a year-over-year basis. Both of those figures were cooler than the expectations of economists polled by LSEG,” wrote Eric Revell for FOX Business (via FOX Business).
