Chinese Tech Giants Push Era of ‘Agentic Commerce’

Chinese tech giants (and retailers) including Alibaba and ByteDance have increased their push to enter a new age of “agentic commerce” in which AI tools become full-service shopping and payment platforms. Last week, Alibaba upgradded its Qwen chatbot to allow full transactions to take place within its conversations (via CNBC).
