AARP Questions Drug Price Increases

The prices consumers pay for the most popular brand-name prescription medicines has increased 41.5 percent over the last five years while wholesale prices for all goods have only gone up 13.3 percent during the same period, according to an AARP report. While there was virtually no inflation in 2009, drug prices rose 8.3 percent.
