One of the fastest-growing grocery chains in the U.S., ALDI, opened two new stores in the Las Vegas area. The locations, one on Marks Street in Henderson and the other on W. Craig Road in Las Vegas, are the only stores in Nevada for the grocer.

To celebrate the grand openings, Las Vegas ALDI shoppers received a commemorative poker chip, which could be used to unlock grocery carts. The first 100 customers through the door got $100 “golden tickets” and a free swag bag.

“At our new Las Vegas-area ALDI stores, shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer,” said Regional Vice President Shawn Eddy in a press release.

With roughly 2,400 locations, ALDI is the third-largest grocer in the U.S. and shows no sign of slowing down as it expands nationwide. In 2024, the company opened 120 new stores.

ALDI Nationwide Expansion

ALDI has been working toward expanding its footprint in the U.S. The newly opened Las Vegas stores are part of a long-term plan to add 800 locations before 2029, with 225 slated to open this year alone.

To increase its presence in the South, the grocer purchased about 400 stores from Southeastern Grocers last year, bringing both Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket brands into the chain’s fold. Now, the process of converting many of these stores into the ALDI format is currently underway, according to Chain Store Age.

In addition to the Nevada stores, the grocer is eyeing other parts of the Southwest as well, with plans to continue bringing new stores to Southern California and Arizona. Of course, ALDI is also scouting out new spots in the Northeast and Midwest.

“With 25% of U.S. households and counting trusting our products and low prices, we’re growing rapidly from coast-to-coast,” said CEO Jason Hart.

A third Las Vegas location is scheduled for a May 15 opening, with a fourth store coming before the end of 2025. With the new locations in Nevada, the grocery chain now has a presence in 39 states.
