Alex and Ani files for Chapter 11

Alex and Ani has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after running into financial problems in recent years. The jewelry chain, which became popular selling charm bracelet bangles, listed $100 million in assets and $500 million in liabilities in its bankruptcy court filing.
