Amazon ‘Buy for Me’ Helps Customers Buy From Other Sites

Amazon has released a “Buy for Me” option to help customers purchase items not sold on the retail giant’s online store.

Per a company press release, Amazon is now offering an option to make it easier for customers to find all the products they need. Therefore, the online shopping giant has developed a Buy for Me option, which allows shoppers to discover and purchase products not sold by the retailer.

The Buy for Me option is currently live in the Amazon Shopping app on both iOS and Android for selected U.S. customers. The option begins a period of testing for the retailer, opening up a limited number of brand stores and products to shoppers. In the coming months, more customers will be given the option to purchase items this way, and more brands and stores will be included.

“We’re always working to invent new ways to make shopping even more convenient, and we’ve created Buy for Me to help customers quickly and easily find and buy products from other brand stores if we don’t currently sell those items in our store,” said Shopping Director Oliver Messenger. “This new feature uses agentic AI to help customers seamlessly purchase from other brands within the familiar Amazon Shopping app, while also giving brands increased exposure and seamless conversion.”

Per Amazon, the new Buy for Me option is a seamless option for purchasing select items outside of the retail giant. The company has made this option easy for shoppers to navigate, allowing them to find items flawlessly.

The press release states, “Buy for Me is integrated into Amazon’s shopping experience so customers can quickly and easily discover additional selection. When customers search for branded items in the search bar in the Amazon Shopping app, they’ll see relevant results from Amazon and third-party sellers in our store, and in some cases, additional relevant products from other stores in a separate section of search results labeled ‘Shop brand sites directly.’”

The process of using Buy for Me has three simple steps. First, customers can tap on an item that says “Buy for Me” in search results listed under “Shop brand sites directly,” and they will be taken to a product detail page within the Amazon Shopping app.

Next, to purchase via Buy for Me, customers can tap on a button to allow the retailer to purchase it for them. Lastly, the customer will receive an order confirmation email from the store. All orders will continue to be tracked in a customer’s Your Orders tab.

It is unclear if the retailer will receive a portion of sales for items purchased via the Buy for Me option on its website or app.
