Amazon Lowers iRobot Deal Price by 15% After Roomba Maker Incurs Fresh Debt
July 26, 2023
Amazon.com has reduced the price it will pay for iRobot, the maker of Roomba vacuum cleaners, by approximately 15% to around $1.42 billion. The decision comes after iRobot incurred fresh debt and entered a $200 million financing facility. Under the amended deal, Amazon will now pay $51.75 in cash for each share of iRobot, down from the original price of $61, and the change in deal price will be offset by iRobot’s increased net debt. However, the deal is still under scrutiny by the European Commission for potential antitrust concerns.
