Amazon Gives Prime Members Early Access To See ‘Wicked’
October 31, 2024
Amazon Prime Members will be able to see the motion picture “Wicked” four days before its official release via an exciting new promotion. The movie officially releases on Nov. 22, but this sneak peek allows “Wicked” fans to see it on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., four days earlier.
Per an Amazon press release, prime members will have the opportunity to see “Wicked,” ahead of everyone else, due to Amazon’s partnership with Universal Pictures. As of Oct. 30, Prime members now have the opportunity to purchase advance screening tickets via Fandango at OzOnAmazon.com.
This unique partnership continues with “Wicked Wednesday” from Oct. 30 to Nov. 27. On these select days, Amazon customers can explore “a magical collection of content and officially licensed merchandise. Simply search #wicked on Amazon.com or in the Amazon Shopping app to uncover an enchanting array of products, content, and experiences. Fans can shop products like Mattel dolls, LEGO sets, Loungefly backpacks, and dress-up costumes inspired by the movie.”
Amazon’s ‘Wicked’ Partnership Continues via Alexa
Fans can also immerse themselves in the world of “Wicked” through their Echo devices, Fire TV, and Amazon Music. Listeners have a chance to follow Elphaba or Glinda by asking Alexa to bring these favorite characters to weather, timers, alarms, jokes, and more with the prompt “Alexa, send me to Oz.”
Alexa encourages “Wicked” fans to be uniquely who they are with commentary from the movie. The messages are inspiring and take listeners to a world where anything is possible. This collaboration also provides dual-themed experiences, which is a first for Alexa Themes.
The press release adds that a panoramic, behind-the-scenes landing page for “Wicked” will be available on Fire TV. Beginning Nov. 22, fans can also listen to the “Wicked” soundtrack on Amazon Music, featuring popular songs from the musical like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” “Dancing Through Life,” and “The Wizard and I.”
By visiting ozonamazon.com, fans of the beloved Broadway play, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary, can immerse themselves in the story, watch clips from the new movie, order merchandise, and more. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande star in the film as Elphaba and Glinda.
