Amazon sets wage baseline for low paying jobs across the U.S.

Amazon.com is setting the standard for the minimum wage that workers will accept in markets across the U.S. This has, in turn, forced many other employers of low wage workers to raise their pay levels or risk seeing their employees go to Amazon or some other better paying company.
