American parents will spend big on back-to-school purchases

American parents are expected to spend $270 per child on those returning to school, up from $250 last year, according to KPMG. Parents of kids heading off to preschool are expected to increase back-to-school purchases by 32 percent, with those with college-bound children spending 13 percent more.
