Americans kept spending in July
August 28, 2020
July marked the third consecutive monthly increase in U.S. consumer spending as the $600-a-week federal unemployment benefit ran out. Spending was up 1.9 percent in the month and Americans’ incomes were up 0.4 percent following two months of declines.
