Arby’s Offering New Steak Nuggets, With CMO Claiming the Offering ‘Has the Meats’

Arby’s continues its tradition of offering all sorts of carnivorous menu offerings for its customers, and its latest offering has its chief marketing officer raving to the press.

Ad Age is reporting that the Arby’s steak nuggets have been rolled out for a trial in several locations. The new product essentially consists of prime rib and steak chunks that are chopped up and available in sandwiches or in five- or nine-piece portions.

The product is currently offered in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida; and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Fans of the brand are talking about the nuggets on social media despite the lack of coordinated marketing activities.

“Our intention is in keeping with having a high quality of meat and variety,” said Jeff Baker, Arby’s chief marketing officer. “This is a new interpretation of getting steak into people’s mouths and the format makes it versatile as a nugget, bowl or sandwich. It’s in test right now and the consumer reaction has been great and our team members are proud to serve it.”

After six years at Buffalo Wild Wings, another Inspire Brands restaurant, Baker returned to Arby’s in late September. From 2014 to 2018, he served as the vice president of brand advertising and content during the early stages of “We have the meats,” which made its debut in 2014.

The carnivore-friendly fast-food restaurant isn’t afraid to experiment with new holiday flavors. Through March 16, Arby’s customers could receive a complimentary Corned Beef Reuben sandwich with any minimum purchase of $15 as a special St. Patrick’s Day bonus. It was the perfect way to get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day while savoring some festive flavors.

At the time, Sheamus, a WWE superstar, posted a picture of himself eating a Corned Beef Reuben sandwich while sporting the T-shirt on Instagram.

“This St. Paddy’s Day, celebrate with a BANGER of a shirt thanks to my mates at @Arbys. Go to arbysshop.com but act fast — these will sell out faster than a Brogue Kick to the face!” he wrote in the caption.
