Athleta may be spun off as Gap seeks new CEO

Former Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal was counting on the company's Athleta and Old Navy banners to lift its results. That didn't happen. Ms. Syngal has left, and speculation is that Athleta and/or Old Navy will be spun off to help Gap get its financial footing as it tries to bring life to its other brands.
