Back-to-school sales expected to post solid gains

Sales of back-to-school merchandise are expected to increase 5.5 percent on top of 2021's 13.1 percent jump, according to Consumer Growth Partners. Eighteen states are relaxing sales taxes in support of the back-to-school season.
