Bankrupt Sears gets bump from liquidation sales

Sears has finally found a strategy to turn its sales number around: the chain experienced a 3.2 percent jump in sales in the third quarter vs. previous year, the first time the company has seen positive numbers in years. Customers came back to scarf up close-out deals on clothing, jewelry, shoes and tools, and yet sales of appliances and auto services dropped due to consumer concerns over the continuation of warranties.
