Barbie's new doll honors early civil rights leader

The new Barbie brand Ida B. Wells doll is designed to honor a woman who was born into slavery and grew up to become an investigative journalist and wrote about the lynchings of three store owners in Memphis, TN, who were murdered because they represented a competitive threat to white-owned stores.
