Baskin-Robbins Brings Back ‘Cult Classic’ Flavor for Valentine’s Day. Here Are the Details

January 27, 2025

Baskin-Robbins is the latest retailer to prepare for Valentine’s Day. The popular ice cream shop announced that it is bringing back a “cult classic” flavor in time for the holiday of love, but it will only be available for a limited time. Here are the details and what we know about this flavor.

Baskin-Robbins Is Bringing Back Love Potion #31

According to Parade, Baskin-Robbins has announced the triumphant return of Love Potion #31 to stores nationwide as February’s Flavor of the Month. The flavor was initially created in 1995 and blends “white chocolate and raspberry flavored ice creams with raspberry-filled chocolate flavored hearts, raspberry swirls, and chocolate-flavored chips,” according to an official statement shared with the outlet.

Baskin-Robbins will also launch its first-ever Sweetheart Fancy Cone, which is described as “a fresh-baked pink waffle cone dipped in chocolate and coated with heart sprinkles.”

The national dessert shop is also releasing a Crazy For You ice cream cake with “fudge accents, a crunchy OREO Cookie, and buttercream rosettes, customizable in any ice cream and cake flavor of guests’ choice.”

Customers who are Baskin-Robbins Rewards members can get $3 off a cake order of $20 or more as well as BOGO 50% off sundaes starting Saturday, Feb. 1. For those who aren’t Rewards members just yet, new members who sign up on the Baskin-Robbins app will receive a free scoop of their preferred ice cream flavor.

What Was the Previous Flavor of the Month?

The return of Love Potion #31 by the ice cream shop comes hot on the heels of January’s Flavor of the Month, which is also a so-called “cult classic” favorite flavor: Cinnamon Roll.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, Baskin-Robbins teased fans’ taste buds with ice cream infused with comfort and toasty spices. The ice cream adds a savory touch to a classic bakery staple, courtesy of the brand’s flavor experts, who converted the renowned pastry into a delightful frozen delicacy.

The Cinnamon Roll is crafted with genuine cinnamon and includes cinnamon roll ice cream, dough pieces, and gooey cinnamon cream cheese swirls. It’s available through the end of January in a cup, cone, or as the centerpiece of one of the company’s distinctive milkshakes.

The Cinnamon Roll flavor came just after the company made headlines for the Brie My Guest offering in November 2024.

Inspired by a cheeseboard, this dessert was the chain’s November Flavor of the Month. According to a press release, Brie My Guest had a unique flavor pallet that included brie and burrata-flavored ice creams, almonds, pistachio pieces, and apricot swirls.

The brie and burrata-flavored ice creams had mild savory undertones, and the almond and pistachio pieces lent a pleasant crunch. Finally, apricot swirls provided acidic sweetness to the creamy dessert. Jerid Grandinetti, vice president of marketing and culinary at Baskin-Robbins, stated in the release at the time, “Holiday gatherings are about sharing memorable experiences, and our Brie My Guest and Turkey Cake do just that. Our new Flavor of the Month is a bold twist on the best parts of a cheeseboard that will delight your guests and spark conversation at the table.”

One of the retailer’s most popular sweet treats also returned to Christmas tables for the 2024 season: The Turkey Cake.

Baskin-Robbins’ unique take on a roasted turkey, complete with distinctive sugar cone legs and a caramel praline sauce, was designed to appear properly cooked while actually containing a customer’s preferred ice cream flavor. Guests were able to pre-order their Turkey Cake in early November and receive a $5 discount, and then they picked up their cake on the day of their celebration.
