Yes, we live in a world where giving away over two-thirds of a million dollars gets you bad PR. Jeff Bezos announced via Instagram the other night that he would be donating $690,000 to aid recovery efforts for the devastating wildfires raging in Australia. Critics pointed out that Mr. Bezos is estimated to be making about $34 million a day, so question how much commitment he’s making to the cause given that it represents less than five minutes of earnings.
