BJ's Wholesale Club posts big sales and earnings gain

BJ's Wholesale Club reported a 21 percent year-over-year increase in sales during the first quarter and its earnings per share (69 cents) was more than double what analysts expected. The warehouse club chain operates 218 stores in 17 states.
