What Does Nestlé Own? Major Brands by Category (2026)

Nestlé owns more than 2,000 brands and sells them in almost every country. The Swiss company organizes that lineup around four core businesses — coffee, pet care, nutrition, and food and snacks — and its billion-dollar names include Nescafé, Nespresso, Purina, KitKat, Maggi, and Gerber. Below is a category-by-category look at the major brands Nestlé owns, plus the ones it has recently sold.

From baby food to a food and beverage giant

Nestlé was founded more than 150 years ago on a milk-based infant food. Decades of acquisitions turned it into the world's largest food and beverage company by revenue. Coffee, pet care, and nutrition now drive most of its growth, and the company has spent the past several years selling off slower categories to concentrate on those areas.

Coffee and beverages

Coffee is Nestlé's largest business. Nescafé anchors instant coffee worldwide, while Nespresso covers the premium capsule market. The wider drinks lineup includes Nesquik, Milo, and Nestea.

Bottled water

Nestlé's premium water brands are Perrier, S.Pellegrino, and Acqua Panna, along with the global Nestlé Pure Life label. This business is changing hands: Nestlé has agreed to sell a 50% stake to private-equity firm Platinum Equity and run these brands through a joint venture, expected to launch in 2027. Nestlé no longer owns Poland Spring, Deer Park, or Arrowhead — it sold its North American water brands in 2021, and they now sit under Primo Brands.

Confectionery and snacks

Nestlé sold its U.S. candy business to Ferrero in 2018, so brands like Butterfinger and Baby Ruth are no longer Nestlé's. Outside the United States, its chocolate and confectionery lineup remains large. In the U.S., KitKat is made under license by The Hershey Company, but Nestlé owns the brand everywhere else.

  • Milkybar
  • Quality Street
  • Toll House

Dairy and coffee creamers

Nestlé's dairy segment spans milk powders, evaporated milk, and coffee creamers.

  • Coffee-Mate
  • Carnation
  • Nido

Nutrition and health science

This is one of Nestlé's priority growth areas, covering infant nutrition and medical nutrition.

  • Gerber
  • Cerelac
  • Boost
  • Peptamen

Frozen and refrigerated foods

In the United States, Nestlé owns a broad set of frozen meals, pizza, and snacks.

  • Stouffer's
  • Lean Cuisine
  • DiGiorno
  • Tombstone
  • Hot Pockets
  • Buitoni

Pet care

Nestlé Purina PetCare is one of the company's biggest and fastest-growing businesses, spanning food, treats, and litter.

  • Purina Pro Plan
  • Fancy Feast
  • Friskies
  • Purina ONE

What Nestlé has sold or is selling

Nestlé has reshaped its portfolio through steady divestitures. It sold its U.S. confectionery brands to Ferrero in 2018 and its North American bottled water brands, including Poland Spring, in 2021. It sold Blue Bottle Coffee in 2026 and moved most of its ice cream into the Froneri joint venture. The pending sale of a majority of its water business to Platinum Equity is the latest step in narrowing Nestlé down to coffee, pet care, nutrition, and food and snacks.
