Buc-ee’s Is Opening 3 Mega-Locations This Summer. See If There’s One Coming Near You

May 29, 2025

Buc-ee’s is a rest stop location that has earned a cult following. Now, the store has announced that it will be opening three mega-locations this summer. Let’s take a look at the locations and see if there’s a store coming near you.

Buc-ee’s 3 New Locations

According to Parade, on June 9, Harrison County, Mississippi, will receive its first Buc-ee’s. This massive 74,000-square-foot facility is anticipated to include 100 petrol pumps, create about 200 jobs in the Gulf Coast area, and serve as a significant new rest stop for drivers on I-10.

On June 30, the first Buc-ee’s in Virginia is scheduled to open in Rockingham County. This 74,000-square-foot facility, situated along I-81 in the Shenandoah Valley, will feature 120 gas pumps. With its arrival, the cult store reaches its most northeastern point to date, bringing the wonders of Beaver Nuggets and immaculate restrooms to an entirely new area.

Brunswick, Georgia, will officially open the Peach State’s third Buc-ee’s on July 1. This 74,000-square-foot facility next to I-95 will be a major hub for tourists going to and from Florida and Georgia.

These positions mark a significant step forward in Buc-ee’s ongoing growth beyond its Texas roots. The franchise has effectively expanded into states such as Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and Colorado since 2019, demonstrating that demand for its distinctive fusion of cleanliness, convenience, and delicious food transcends state boundaries.

This summer belongs to Mississippi, Virginia, and Georgia, while supporters in other states are excitedly awaiting their own locations (with Ohio, Arizona, North Carolina, and more scheduled in the upcoming years). Get ready for traffic, a flurry of excitement for the grand opening, and an unending supply of brisket sandwiches.

First on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

News of the Gulf Coast location was first released in April.

“We are currently set to open in Harrison County, MS on June 9,” the company’s media department told the Sun Herald at the time.

Known for its Beaver Nuggets, hot brisket, and the cleanest restrooms on the road, this $50 million travel station is situated on I-10 next to Menge Avenue, exit 24. It’s Mississippi’s first Buc-ee’s, and construction began in September 2023.

Additionally, large crowds attended a job fair to fill more than 200 positions at the new Buc-ee’s. Mississippi received more applications for jobs than any other job fair the company has hosted in previous years, according to Josh Smith, director of operations for the Southeast. In addition to complete benefits, full-time jobs often pay between $18 and $24 per hour.

In 1982, the company’s founder, Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, opened his first location on I-10 in Texas. The majority of the 50 locations in the U.S. are found along interstates, such as I-95, and in the American South.

“Ever since our inception in 1982, we have been committed to providing a clean, friendly, and in stock experience for our customers. Regardless of where you may find us, if the store is big or small, near or far, the mission remains the same,” the company’s mission statement states on its official website.

Because Buc-ee’s is so well-known, the retailer recently sued Barc-ee’s, which sounds similar, for trademark infringement.

By allegedly exploiting trademarks, such as a cheerful animal mascot that is similar to Buc-ee’s, Barc-ee’s obtains an unfair advantage. People are easily duped, according to Buc-ee’s, and they might think the two businesses are connected.

“Buc-ee’s will not be an idle spectator while others infringe the intellectual property rights that Buc-ee’s has worked so hard to develop,” a representative told FOX Business.
