Budweiser Clydesdales Commercial Ahead for the Super Bowl

January 31, 2024

Budweiser has brought back its unforgettable Clydesdale horses for a commercial set to air during Super Bowl LVIII. The match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers is part of a night of fun for all, where some of the most iconic commercials of the year will make their debut, including the stunning equines that have become as much a part of the Anheuser-Busch landscape as Budweiser itself.

The ad is called “Old-School Delivery,” reports Anheuser-Busch. It stars the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales in their 46th Super Bowl appearance.

Directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and Emmy Award-winning commercial director Henry Alex Rubin, the commercial features a small town struck by a snowstorm, according to the company site. Bad weather means the roads are closed, causing beer supply to dwindle at a local bar.

Enter the Budweiser Clydesdales, who emerge from their stables. They assist the stuck delivery driver by loading the traditional wooden Budweiser hitch with beer.

The piece ends with a Labrador who helps guide the horses for the remainder of their journey. The bar is restocked, the townspeople are happy, and an end card reads, “Delivering Since 1876.”

Budweiser said the Clydesdales will also make deliveries across Las Vegas, Nevada, leading up to the Super Bowl. The big game airs Sunday, Feb. 11, at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City.

“Budweiser has been synonymous with the Super Bowl for decades and the broadcast continues to be a very special moment for our brand and a core pillar of our advertising strategy,” said Kristina Punwani, head of marketing at Budweiser USA.

Punwani continued, adding that the company was thrilled to bring its fans “a piece of the traditional Super Bowl entertainment that they know and love from Budweiser: the iconic Clydesdales. We knew there was no better way to show Budweiser’s continued commitment to delivering for its fans than with our biggest celebrities.”
