Buffalo Wild Wings Is Giving Out Free Wings Because of the Super Bowl

February 26, 2024

Buffalo Wild Wings made a bold promise to Americans: free wings for everyone if the Super Bowl went into overtime. Lo and behold, that’s precisely what happened. With the game extending beyond regulation time, the nation has eagerly awaited their chance to claim six free chicken wings each on Monday, Feb. 26.

This isn’t the first time Buffalo Wild Wings has made such a pledge. For six years running, the company has stood by this commitment, a tradition sparked by the memorable overtime showdown between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI back in 2017.

To claim their bounty, patrons need only visit one of the chain’s 1,300-plus restaurants between 2 and 5 p.m. local time. However, there’s a catch: the offer is valid for dine-in or in-person takeout only, with no option for delivery or phone-in orders. Each customer is entitled to six wings, available in either boneless or traditional style and drenched in any of the restaurant’s 26 signature sauces.

Of course, Buffalo Wild Wings isn’t a stranger to enticing offers. Its ongoing BOGO deals, available every Tuesday and Thursday, have already won over many fans. Tuesdays feature a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on bone-in wings, while Thursdays offer a buy-one-get-one-free deal on boneless wings. The chain has even enlisted the help of comedian and actor Nick Cannon to spread the word about these promotions.

But giveaways aren’t exclusive to Buffalo Wild Wings. Other chains like Carl’s Jr. and Subway have used similar tactics to drum up excitement. For Carl’s Jr., it’s a return to its roots of bold marketing, while Subway used free foot-long cookies to highlight a new menu item.

For Buffalo Wild Wings, however, this giveaway isn’t just about free wings — it’s about reinforcing its status as the nation’s premier sports bar chain. It’s a gesture that resonates with the company’s broader messaging, emphasizing its commitment to bringing people together over great food and unforgettable sports moments.
