Buffalo Wild Wings Brings Back Free Super Bowl Wings

February 3, 2025

Buffalo Wild Wings is bringing back one of the most popular promotions in the Super Bowl season: free wings if the game goes into overtime.

In a press release announcement, the company revealed that fans across the country were able to celebrate with free wings when the thrilling Big Game went into overtime in 2024. After fulfilling its promise last year, Buffalo Wild Wings is daring to place another wager on the line: If the Big Game goes into overtime, B-Dubs is ready to provide free wings.

If the Super Bowl on Feb. 9 in New Orleans is tied after regulation play and continues into overtime, everyone in the United States can get six free boneless or classic wings at Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time. The discount is only valid for dine-in and in-person takeout.

“Are we crazy for bringing our overtime deal back after last year’s turnout? Maybe! After giving away over 2.5 million wings last year, we know it’s a bold move to bring it back,” said Tristan Meline, chief marketing officer at Buffalo Wild Wings, in a statement accompanying the press release. “For us at B-Dubs, it’s all about the thrill of the game, and we’re pumped to give all football — and wing — fans another chance at scoring big, no matter who they cheer for.”

Buffalo Wild Wings Previously Teamed Up With a Heisman Trophy Winner

Buffalo Wild Wings has long been regarded as the premier sports bar, especially in football, which is inextricably linked to chicken wings. On Super Bowl Sunday, more people eat wings than any other day of the year, maybe because they are simple to share and personalize, making them a popular choice for casual gatherings. The National Chicken Council said 1.45 billion wings were consumed that day last year.

And, according to Nation’s Restaurant News, the marriage of football and chicken wings has endured. Last December, the chicken restaurant ran a special promotion in celebration of Travis Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback for the University of Colorado Buffaloes who won the Heisman Trophy.

The Travis Hunter Combo cost $19.99 and included 15 boneless wings, five chicken tenders, a large order of fries, and five dips. Fans were able to access this deal via the chain’s app or website, as well as Buffalo Wild Wings Go, the brand’s takeaway and delivery service, through Dec. 23.
