Cabela's settles with SEC over accounting practices

The outdoors gear retailer has agreed to pay $1 million to the Securities Exchange Committee for failing to take out an intercompany “fee” that Cabela's wholly owned banking subsidiary paid it for credit card accounts. The SEC alleged the fee made it appear that Cabela's profit margins were better than they were in reality.
