Carnival Cruise Line Bans More Than 20 People for Life After Huge Brawl in Galveston

May 4, 2025

Carnival Cruise Line has banned more than 20 people for life from its ships after a huge brawl broke out shortly after the ship left Galveston, Texas.

According to the Houston Chronicle, social media users posted footage of the altercation, which showed a sizable crowd pushing and punching one another. Although the cause of the altercation is unknown, Carnival Cruise Lines told the Chronicle in a statement that the brawl took place in a debarkation area governed by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

Twenty-four people have been added to Carnival’s Do Not Sail List after the case was turned over to law officials. Carnival released a statement saying, “We will not tolerate such behavior.”

The fight is captured on camera as several people chase after a man wearing a white T-shirt as he moves from the debarkation point’s luggage recovery area to what looks to be a passageway that leads to the ship or another room.

Occasionally, the man turns around to engage in physical combat with the people behind him, particularly with another man wearing a white T-shirt. This man strikes back at the first man. Although the conflict still seems mostly focused on the two original males, it eventually turns into a full-out brawl in which other people strike and kick one another.

Carnival Cruise Line Canceled Sailings on 2 Popular Ships

Meanwhile, Carnival Cruise Line recently canceled sailing on two of its most popular ships.

This notice was made following modifications to the cruise line’s dry dock timetable. These last-minute changes resulted in the removal of Carnival Magic and Carnival Horizon from service. Carnival Magic previously rescheduled its cruises for spring 2026 instead of fall 2025. Due to this change in the schedule, Carnival Cruise Line was able to reschedule the cruises that were originally planned for this autumn by canceling the original sailings for the spring of next year.

Similarly, Carnival Horizon announced the cancellation of its transatlantic trip scheduled for June 15, 2026, from Barcelona, Spain, to Miami, Florida. The ship is scheduled to undergo dry dock repairs in the spring of 2026.
