Carnival Cruise Line Has Brought Back a Beloved Menu Item

December 8, 2024

Carnival Cruise Line continues to give the customers what they want by bringing back a beloved menu item, much to the delight of cruise-goers and fans.

According to Cruise Blog, escargot — a French dish made of snails and sauteed in butter, white wine, and olive oil — was one of the most popular appetizers for decades on the ships, before it was removed in 2023. Now, however, it has made its triumphant return.

Cruising allows you to try new foods without having to commit, whether you’re an adventurous eater or just want to try something new once. You can easily order a different meal for free if you first pick one that you don’t like.

Frog legs, braised lamb, roasted duck buns, tuna tiradito nikkei, and Indian delicacies are among the menu items offered by Carnival Cruise Line. Cruisers with an inquisitive palate and those looking for well-known favorites have endless possibilities on the ships.

Carnival Cruise Line Also Brought on a Popular Unofficial Mascot

Recently, Ambassador John Heald’s now-deleted Facebook post featuring Carnival Cruise Line’s unusual mascot, “Ducky the Duck,” garnered media attention.

“I would like to introduce you to a brilliant and fun addition to the ships. Coming soon to your cruise you’re going to see the continuation of the duck phenomenon,” Heald said in the post, according to CruiseHive. “Here with Carnival Jubilee Hotel Director Pierre and Hotel Director and Director of Guest Operations Greg please meet ummmm… Ducky the Duck.”

Due to the post’s popularity, Carnival Cruise Line issued a follow-up statement regarding the new mascot, stating that he would be making humorous cameos on different ships but was not, in fact, an official character.

“The duck character introduced by our photo team is one of many characters available for guests to take fun photos with and is not an official mascot,” the popular cruise line said in a separate statement.

The character is a tribute to the popular cruise trend known as “ducking.” The Points Guy notes that cruisers usually bring rubber ducks on their voyages, which they then hide throughout the ship, as a way to have a little fun. Usually, the ducks have information cards attached to them that list the names of the people who hid the ducks and the locations of those passengers.

In 2018, a 10-year-old girl named Abby executed a kind act with the sole intention of cheering up other travelers. It now has hundreds of thousands of members in various Facebook groups.
