Carnival Cruise Line & Royal Caribbean Change Age Restrictions for Young Adult Travelers
March 2, 2025
Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean have implemented new policies for young adult travelers, changing their age restriction policies.
According to ABC 11, all passengers who wish to travel alone must be 21 years old or older. Previously, passengers only needed to be 18 years old or older.
“It’s very important that if you are traveling for spring break and you are between 18 and 21 that you call the cruise line or your travel advisor because you will either need to have an accompanied adult with you or you’re going to need to reschedule or cancel,” said Christy Lyczkowski, a travel advisor with Pirate and Pixie Dust Destinations of Christy L Travel, to the outlet.
There are, however, some exceptions to this new Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean policy.
“If you’re 18 to 21 and you’re married and you can show that you’re legally married, then you’re allowed to sail. If you are 18 to 21 and you’re in the military and you’re active and you can show that you’re active duty for US and Canada, then you can sail,” said Lyczkowski.
Carnival’s policy goes one step further and makes it clear that any passenger under 21 must travel with someone that is 25 or older.
Carnival Cruise Line Recently Introduced Its New Beach Club
Regardless of how old you are, you’re never too young to enjoy an exclusive beach club. That’s why Carnival Cruise Line recently introduced a new beach club in the Bahamas.
Celebration Key, Carnival Cruise Line’s new private beach area in the Bahamas, is nearly completed. Many key milestones have already transpired, with just five months left until its debut.
Carnival has released the first photographs of the new venue, which will open to tourists on July 19 when Carnival Vista makes its first port call.
An aerial view of Celebration Key’s development shows the adults-only Calypso Lagoon Portal. The 10-story Suncastle waterslide tower, which serves as the main point of the destination’s five gates, is visible in the distance, surrounded by scaffolding.
During a recent site visit, Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, assisted in the ceremonial filling of one of the Caribbean’s two largest freshwater lagoons. An on-site system will desalinate the lagoons’ combined freshwater volume of approximately 7 million gallons.
“Celebration Key represents a new chapter for Carnival and its construction builds on our close partnership with The Bahamas, so seeing it transform from vision to reality is incredible,” said Duffy. “We broke ground on this site less than three years ago, and now in five short months we’ll see our first guests enjoy the many experiences we created just for them to celebrate and enjoy this gorgeous place on Grand Bahama.”
