Chains May Make Bid For Penn Traffic

Albertsons and Kroger are said to be considering making a bid for the troubled 107 store Penn Traffic grocery chain. Penn Traffic postponed a court hearing for today on its reorganization plan because it claimed to have received “multiple compelling proposals” from unidentified sources.
