Charlotte Russe will close 94 stores as part of bankruptcy action

Charlotte Russe, which operates about 500 mostly mall-based clothing stores catering to young women, has put in a Chapter 11 filing citing the heavy burden of running physical stores. Management said it hopes that trimming its store count by 94 locations and shifting to more online sales will be a healthy way forward out of bankruptcy.
