Chick-fil-A Recalls Polynesian Sauce Due to Potential Allergens

February 29, 2024

Chick-fil-A has initiated a recall of its Polynesian sauce, citing potential wheat and soy allergens. Customers who have acquired Polynesian dipping cups from Chick-fil-A between Feb. 14-27, 2024, are advised to discard them promptly. Specifically, the fast-food chain claims that the “Polynesian dipping cups may contain a different sauce that includes wheat and soy allergens,” according to a notice on its website.

The company stresses the importance of this recall due to the possibility of allergen contamination and encourages those with inquiries to reach out to Chick-fil-A CARES at 1-866-232-2040.

First introduced in 1984 alongside honey mustard and barbecue sauces, the Polynesian sauce has been a cherished accompaniment to Chick-fil-A’s chicken nuggets, which were added to the menu in 1982.

The recall of Polynesian sauce serves as a reminder of the importance of food safety protocols in the fast-food industry, emphasizing the need for stringent measures to protect consumers from potential allergen exposure.

Amidst these developments, Chick-fil-A recently settled a class-action lawsuit. Eligible residents from several states were entitled to a $29.95 gift card. However, the deadline for claims has now passed.

The lawsuit, filed in Georgia in October 2023, accused Chick-fil-A of inflating menu prices by up to 30% on delivery orders, contradicting assurances of low delivery fees on their app or website during the COVID-19 pandemic.
