Chili’s Boldly Channels the ’90s With Tiffani Thiessen and a Refreshing New Margarita

Chili’s has tapped ’90s television icon Tiffani Thiessen to introduce the Radical ‘Rita to its lineup of limited monthly margaritas.

This May, Thiessen will be seen in a series of ads for the restaurant chain, promoting its new color-shifting beverage. This is the latest in Chili’s Margarita of the Month program, a rotating offering of monthly margaritas guests can enjoy every day at the low price of $6.

Per a press release, Chili’s Radical ‘Rita is crafted with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Monin Dragonfruit, a float of Blue Curaçao, and House-Made Sour, and it’s garnished with a lime wedge and a collection of ’90s-inspired swizzle sticks. Additionally, guests can use their swizzle sticks to transform the color of their margaritas by swirling the pink and blue liquors to transform into a purple cocktail.

In an accompanying promotional video, Thiessen explains how the cocktail changes color. But as she shares the information, Chili’s patrons are attacked by colorful graphics from the decade.

“Everyone knows me from my days on America’s favorite ’90s sitcom, but what they might not know is that I also love a great margarita — and some of my favorite early memories with my husband were made at Chili’s,” said actress Thiessen. “Chili’s really knows how to tap into the spirit of such an iconic decade — one I’m especially fond of — with their Radical ‘Rita.”  

Chili’s fans shared their remarks regarding the company’s latest margarita promotion on Instagram. This particular ad campaign appears to be “da bomb” with customers.

“Give the marketing team a raise,” wrote one Instagram user. A second penned, “Literally the first time I’ve wanted to visit a Chili’s since the ’90s.”

A third shared, “This is the best!!! The perfect collab! The queen of the ’90s herself!” Finally, a fourth social media fan shared, “So awesome! Couldn’t have picked a better person for this!”

Jesse Johnson, vice president of marketing at Chili’s, added, “At Chili’s, we are constantly challenging ourselves to push creative boundaries — whether that’s in the kitchen, in an advertising campaign, or in this case, behind the bar. We’ve taken a very on-trend flavor in Dragonfruit and are presenting it in a way our guests have never seen before through our $6 Margarita of the Month program — complete with a totally fresh ’90s-style ad campaign.”  

What Is Chili’s Margarita of the Month Program?

The Radical ‘Rita is the latest installment in Chili’s Margarita of the Month program. The restaurant regularly offers different types of monthly margaritas that customers can enjoy for just $6.

The eatery provides its customers with these delicious, affordable beverages throughout the year. The program was launched as a way to celebrate bold flavors and seasonal themes, and it’s been a hit ever since. Past favorites have included the Cherry Blossom ‘Rita (a sweet blend of cherry and tequila), the Straw-Eddy ‘Rita featuring Deep Eddy Lemon vodka and strawberry puree, and the Crown Apple Crisp ‘Rita, which mixed Crown Royal Apple with fresh citrus notes for a perfect fall sipper.

The eatery has an entire website dedicated to its monthly margarita flavors, keeping its drink choices lighthearted and fun with the names of the beverages. Thus far, throughout 2025, customers have enjoyed the following flavors: Watermelon Wave Marg, the Lemon Drop Marg, the Straweddy Marg, and the Resolution Breaker Marg.

Per Chili’s, demand for $6 Margaritas of the Month and the rest of the brand’s extended marg menu led to over 25 million margaritas being sold in 2024 alone.
