Chili’s Turned a Viral Appetizer Into a Holiday Gift Collection. Here Are the Details

December 8, 2024

Chili’s recognizes the success of its one viral appetizer and has turned it into the must-have holiday gift of the year. The iconic Triple Dipper is now taking the form of bedspreads and other sleepwear. Let’s take a look at what the casual dining chain has done for its biggest fans.

Chili’s Triple Dipper Appetizer Is Now a Bedspread

In a press release announcement, it was revealed that the limited-edition Triple Dipper Dream Collection is Chili’s way of paying tribute to the Triple Dipper. With more than 200 million views on TikTok, the Triple Dipper went viral this year. This delicious set is the latest in the trend.

The casual dining chain is launching a limited-edition holiday collection that will allow fans to indulge in their favorite flavors, which are inspired by the Triple Dipper’s famous cheese pulls, smashed burger bites, and sauced Chicken Crispers. The collection, which can only be found at welcometochilis.com, will be offered in small daily drops as long as supplies last. Included in the Triple Dipper Dream Collection are:

  • Triple Dipper Bedding Bundle: The perfect gift for Chili’s fans, this set features pillow covers inspired by Nashville Hot Mozz, Chicken Crispers, and Big Mouth Bites, along with a basket liner–themed fitted sheet, flat sheet, and a basket bed skirt. Available in queen size ($85).
  • Big Mouth Bites Eye Mask: Skip the cucumbers — this eye mask channels Big Mouth Bites energy, ensuring fans dream of their next Chili’s outing ($10).
  • Honey Chipotle Chicken Crisper Socks: Stay cozy with socks designed to look like Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers, complete with toes “dipped” in Chili’s signature house-made ranch for the ultimate fan flair ($15).
  • Triple Dipper Dream Collection: Die-hard fans can indulge in the full Triple Dipper experience with a bundle that includes the Triple Dipper Bedding, Big Mouth Bites Eye Mask, and Honey Chipotle Chicken Crisper Socks ($100).

“Chili’s fans have been dreaming about the Triple Dipper all year, so we decided to interpret that dream in the most literal way possible with a set that fully embodies this fan favorite,” said George Felix, Chili’s chief marketing officer, in a statement accompanying the press release. “At the end of a long day, who wouldn’t want to pull on some Chicken Crispers socks, cover those eyes with Burger Bites and cozy up to a Nashville Hot Mozz pillow? As I always say (starting right now), eat well, sleep well, Chili’s well.”

The Triple Dipper Has Experienced ‘Remarkable’ Growth

The casual dining chain previously revealed that the Triple Dipper helped it experience “remarkable” growth.

According to the New York Post, analyst John Ivankoe of JPMorgan Chase described the restaurant’s earnings in the latest quarter as “truly remarkable.”

CNN reports that when visitors purchase the Triple Dipper platter, they can get three appetizers and sauces for less than $20. The lunch deal now makes up 11% of the restaurant’s overall revenue, with sales jumping 70% over the previous year.

Kevin Hochman, CEO of Chili’s parent company, Brinker International, said the Triple Dipper is “very relevant with younger guests and how they prefer to eat with more variety, customization, and experiential flavors” because of the business’s wide assortment of dips. People regularly record different Triple Dipper combinations and gush about them on TikTok. Chili’s $6 monthly margaritas, particularly its October “Witches Brew,” which became “one of the best-selling promotional margaritas ever,” are another attraction, according to Hockman. A new $10 margarita prepared with Don Julio is also attracting wealthy patrons.

Hochman said that the $10.99 Big Smasher burger, which rivals McDonald’s Big Mac, “continues to win with guests” and is a “significant” traffic driver during the company’s earnings call.

Chili’s debuted the $10.99 Big Smasher meal deal in April, promising “twice the beef of a Big Mac and flavors fast food lovers will recognize.” The meal includes unlimited refills of a non-alcoholic drink, french fries, and chips with salsa.
