Chipotle settles case and denies it closed store to bust union
March 28, 2023
Chipotle Mexican Grill will pay a total $240,000 in back pay to former workers who allege the chain closed their restaurant and fired them because of union organizing activity. The union claims the settlement shows Chipotle’s true intentions. Chipotle disputes that assertion. “We settled this case not because we did anything wrong, but because the time, energy and cost to litigate would have far outweighed the settlement agreement,” the chain said in a statement.
