Chipotle's quarterly declines reflect continuing troubles

Despite concerted efforts to turn around its image, Chipotle has been stymied in its attempts to shake off the after-affects of its food-safety troubles. The company announced financial results today that badly missed analysts' projections. Chipotle's third quarter earnings fell almost 15 percent and comp restaurant sales plunged 22 percent.
