Consumer prices jumped more than an expected in April

The Consumer Price Index was up 4.2 percent in April, a 0.8 percent increase over March. Economists were expecting prices to rise 3.6 percent. The core index, which doesn't include food and fuel, rose 0.9 percent in April from March, the biggest one month jump since 1982.
