Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana and Florida have all passed legislation to raise gas taxes, taking effect on Jan. 1. Motorists in Pennsylvania will see their gas taxes — already the nation’s highest at 50.4 cents per gallon — jump an additional 7.9 cents per gallon.
