Crime stats dispute Walgreens' reason for closing stores

Walgreens announced that it is closing five stores in San Francisco due to high levels of shoplifting but statistics from the city's police do not support that position. The stores have had on average fewer than two recorded shoplifting incidents a month since 2018.
