Del Taco Franchisee Was in the Running for CFO of the Year. Here’s Why

November 11, 2024

A developer and franchisee from Del Taco was in the running for a CFO of the Year award. Brent Veach, who opened his first Del Taco restaurant in 1999, was nominated for the award earlier this month, and the final awards were handed out on Nov. 6. Let’s take a look at why he was in the running for the prestigious award.

Del Taco Franchisee Brent Veach

According to AZ Big Media, Brent Veach is a developer and franchisee of Del Taco who owns and runs 50 locations with 925 staff members. He works in two markets: Colorado and Arizona. He started out by constructing and running a single Del Taco restaurant in Phoenix in 1999.

The outlet nominated him for the CFO of the Year award because he was one of the Arizona business community’s “unsung heroes.” Julie Shaw, co-chair of the CFO of the Year Awards, stated, “While other business leaders often grab the headlines, CFOs are invaluable in the background, driving financial strategy, managing risks, leveraging data insights and ensuring businesses remain competitive, agile and financially resilient in a changing economy.”

The Del Taco franchisee was nominated alongside other executives, but ultimately, he did not take home one of the prestigious awards on Nov. 6. Here is the full list of winners:

$5 Mucho Meal

A news release last month marked the launch of Del Taco’s new Del’s Mucho Meal, which starts at just under $5 and gives consumers a choice of four brand-new meal combos along with more of their favorite foods.

“At Del Taco, we know our guests are looking for great value without sacrificing flavor or freshness,” said Tom Rose, president of Del Taco, in a statement accompanying the press release. “In a world where it’s hard to find a robust menu under $5, we’re proud to offer real, high-quality food at unbeatable prices. Our NEW Del’s Mucho Meal prove that you can enjoy the best of both worlds — freshness and flavor at a price that works for everyone.”

Each Del’s Mucho Meal includes a 16-ounce fountain drink, little Crinkle Cut Fries, and a Mini Cinnamon Churro. Medium or macho (large) fries and drinks are also available. The Snack Taco Mucho Meal, which includes two Snack Tacos, is the cheapest option at $4.49. Additionally, customers can sample the Double Taco Mucho Meal ($6.49), the Chicken Lover’s Mucho Meal ($7.49), and the B&C Burrito Mucho Meal ($5.49).

Additionally, the casual Mexican-inspired fast-food chain revealed that the Cookie Butter Shake would be back for a brief time. This delicious dessert is prepared with a creamy vanilla shake that contains crunchy Biscoff Cookie Crumbles and authentic Biscoff Cookie Butter.
