Delta’s Most Exclusive Airport Lounge Opens

June 26, 2024

A new Delta Airlines lounge has opened at JFK International Airport called Delta One, and it is the most exclusive and luxurious for premium travelers to date.

Per Delta’s press site, this lounge is the first of its kind and larger than any Delta Sky Club and offers a variety of amenities. The lounge is 39,000 square feet and filled with all the luxurious experiences one would expect from the exclusive destination experience.

The lounge includes fine dining, spa-like wellness treatments, valet services and more. Amenities also include full-body massage chairs, fine dining, bathroom stalls, shower suites outfitted with robes and slippers, and soundproof booths to get work done.

“Our teams have spared no detail to ensure Delta One Lounge guests receive a truly memorable experience,” said Claude Roussel, Vice President – of Delta Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience. “It’s a new era for Delta.”

The statement continues, “This lounge is raising the bar across the board, from the amenities to the food and beverage offerings to the level of personalized service. We want our guests to feel the difference here; moreover, we want them to feel welcomed and valued when they enter the door.”

The area’s decor pays homage to iconic New York City elements. These include the Bar Lounge ceiling, which resembles the gold leaf ceiling and chandeliers of Radio City Music Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge-inspired suspended lighting fixture in the dining room.

Delta is trying to attract more flyers to its Delta One cabin reports CNBC. These luxurious amenities will reportedly rival other carriers such as United and American Airlines, who also have lounges for premium travelers. This continuing evolution follows the trend of how airports are starting to resemble shopping malls.

The New York Post reports that access to this area is very exclusive. Everyday travelers cannot just enter the space unless they are members of the invite-only “360” club or if they buy tickets to the airline’s Delta One service.

This premium cabin service offers lie-flat seats and priority check-in. Those fares can reach as high as $10,000.

Delta One lounge is between Concourses A and B in Terminal 4, adjacent to the main security checkpoint.
