Food Lion’s Training Creates Diverse Management Opportunities

By George Anderson

Food Lion has developed a management training program for new graduates of African American colleges in partnership with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).

The Atlanta Daily World reports, “The training program provides new graduates a year-long learning experience in the grocery retail business. Program participants will learn how the grocery supply chain works and how to successfully operate and manage a Food Lion store.”

Graduates of the Food Lion “Retail Management Trainee Program” are assigned to store management positions. Everyone has the opportunity to gain the experience necessary to advance up the corporate ladder.

behaviors prevalent in any aspect of retailing and consumer marketing today?

In light of the controversy surrounding Trent Lott’s recent
remarks, we thought this topic timely for discussion.
