Office Depot's latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission cautions that a war with Iraq "could have a very serious adverse impact on our business in 2003 and beyond."
Moderator's Comment: What is your reaction to the caution given by Office Depot about the effects a war might have on its business?
Perhaps we shouldn't have any problem with Office Depot's statement because the company is essentially correct. A war with Iraq will have an effect on the economy and business environment.
That said, even with a war, there will be companies that grow and prosper and those that do not. We can't help but feel that Office Depot management is preparing stakeholders for the worst that may happen even if war can be averted? [George Anderson - Moderator]
