Penn Traffic will launch its Specialty Shop Online service beginning next month, featuring products not generally found in the company's stores, reports The Buffalo News.

Nexpansion developed this new online shopping feature for Penn Traffic. The company has developed similar programs for Pathmark and Harris-Teeter.

With this entry into online sales, Penn Traffic says it will provide customers will access to approximately 40,000 items through Specialty Shop Online. Included on this list are everything from specialty food items to consumer electronics.

Customers pay a shipping fee of roughly $5 for orders up to $30 and about $12 for those over $60.

Nexpansion offers retailers the opportunity to increase product selection substantially without having to pay for and inventory the products. This added service does in fact, add value. Something often talked about in the grocery industry and rarely delivered. [George Anderson - Moderator]
