The current owner of Dominick's Finer Foods has been criticized for moving control of the chain's fortunes from the local market to its corporate offices in California.
If the rumors are true, prospective owner Supervalu doesn't plan on taking the same approach.
Crain's Chicago Business quotes a source familiar with the situation as saying Supervalu plans "to restore purchasing, marketing and other personnel to the chain's Oak Brook headquarters."
"Dominick's executives have been asking headquarters employees whether they would be interested in staying on under Supervalu and if they know of former executives who could be lured back," the source told Crain's.

Based on this, Jeff Noddle plans on being more flexible than Steve Burd when it comes to trying to restore Dominick's to its former position within the Chicagoland market.
