Dollar General Has Paid a Fraction of the $21 Million It Owes in Fines for Hazardous Working Conditions
July 18, 2023
Dollar General has only paid a fraction of the $21 million in fines it owes for hazardous working conditions, according to reports. The fines were imposed by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) due to safety violations in Dollar General stores, including cluttered and messy aisles that pose fire and emergency risks. Despite being labeled a “severe violator” by OSHA, the company has paid just $4 million of the fines it owes, raising concerns about worker safety and compliance.
