Domino’s To Partner With DoorDash for Pizza Delivery as Exclusive Uber Eats Deal Expires

April 2, 2025

Domino’s has announced a partnership with third-party food delivery service DoorDash, according to an April 2 press release shared to the latter company’s website.

The pizza chain indicated that it will be kicking off its new arrangement with DoorDash nationwide in May, with the Canadian market also seeing the partnership enacted later this year. Domino’s delivery drivers will still be driving pizza, pasta, chicken dishes, and cheesy bread to hungry customers who order through the DoorDash app.

“As brands that are both dedicated to digital ordering excellence, our new partnership with DoorDash brings together the scale of our two industry-leading companies, as we continue to build towards the $1 billion opportunity that we believe the aggregator marketplace represents for us,” said Joe Jordan, the pizza chain’s COO and president, U.S.

“The ability to connect seamlessly with DoorDash customers means more sales for Domino’s stores, while efficiently leveraging our brand’s robust delivery network. Tapping into incremental customers, particularly in suburban and rural markets, is a meaningful opportunity for Domino’s, as our brand continues to open stores nationwide,” Jordan continued.

DoorDash appeared equally optimistic over the prospect of the incoming partnership.

“DoorDash is excited to welcome Domino’s to our Marketplace across the U.S. and Canada. Domino’s chose DoorDash for our unmatched scale and reach, helping them serve millions of customers and drive incremental sales. By joining forces, we’re bringing customers a new choice in the rapidly growing pizza category,” said Prabir Adarkar, president and COO of DoorDash.

Domino’s Expands Delivery Options as Uber Eats Deal Ends

Domino’s had previously entered into an exclusive deal with Uber Eats to act as its third-party delivery service (in 2023), but that exclusivity comes to an end on May 1, as Restaurant Business reported. The outlet noted that talks of expanding its aggregator partners lineup had begun in earnest in February, with CEO Russ Weiner stating as much during an analyst call at that time. The Uber Eats partnership has so far been successful for the red-white-and-blue brand.

Restaurant Business further underscored the point that the three publicly traded U.S. pizza chains — Domino’s, Papa John’s, and Pizza Hut — averaged a decline of 1% regarding same-store sales in 2024, with a large area of weakness being self-delivery.
