Domino’s Launches Its First Stuffed Crust Pizza Ever as Part of $9.99 Carryout Deal

March 3, 2025

The pizza wars are certainly heating up, and this time it’s Domino’s that is attempting to reclaim a portion of the total market share in the segment.

According to CNBC, Domino’s is rolling out its first-ever stuffed crust pizza on March 3.

The reasoning behind the move? Domino’s is seeing far too many sales being lost to competitors who are scooping up hungry customers looking for a stuffed crust pie.

“Nearly 13 million Domino’s customers each year are buying stuffed crust from our competitors, and these are our customers who have to leave our brand because we’re the only national pizza brand that doesn’t offer it,” Domino’s CMO Kate Trumbull told CNBC.

Domino’s Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizza ‘One of the Longest Development Efforts in the Company’s History’

Domino’s will be launching its Parmesan Stuffed Crust Pizza immediately, one which sees the crust stuffed with mozzarella, topped with garlic seasoning and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.

The pizza will be added to the red-white-and-blue brand’s carryout menu deal offerings, priced at $9.99.

In advance of the official launch of the stuffed crust pizza, Domino’s spent three months training staff in 7,000 stores from coast to coast as to its proper preparation and construction.

“It has been one of the longest development efforts in the company’s history,” Trumbull stated.

The History of the Stuffed Crust Pizza Involves President Donald Trump

The stuffed crust pizza as we know (and love) it was first introduced all the way back in 1995 by Pizza Hut, who hired President Donald Trump — then known for his business ventures and pop culture status — to represent the new menu offering in a commercial.

Pizza Hut’s gamble would pay off: Per CNN, the stuffed crust pizza generated $300 million in sales in its first year following release.

Little Caesars eventually added its own stuffed crust pizza to menus nationwide in 2018, asking the question of “just how much cheese can one pizza hold?” while Papa Johns rolled out the Epic Stuffed Crust Pizza in 2021.
