Dunkin’ Debuts a Wickedly Delicious Potion Macchiato

Dunkin’ celebrates the spooky season with a wickedly delicious Potion Macchiato.

This newest addition to the holiday menu at the legendary coffee retailer is filled with the spirit of the season. All decked out in purple and black, the Potion Macchiato has the flavors of fall and the spirit of Halloween.

According to a Dunkin’ press release, the drink features a striking layer of vibrant, purple marshmallow ube swirl and whole milk that blends into a layer of the bold Dunkin’ espresso. Originating from the Philippines, Ube is a Filipino purple yam with a nutty, sweet flavor, often enjoyed in various dishes and beverages, both hot and iced. This seasonal sip from Dunkin’ is also available hot or iced.

While typically the fall season is introduced with orange and brown hues, Dunkin’ went all in for the spooky holiday by crafting a drink that has a unique taste and an equally stunning overall look.

Beth Turenne, vice president of category management at Dunkin’, described the seasonal treats: “At Dunkin’, we love keeping guests fueled through every season, and Halloween is no exception. With beloved treats like our Spider Donut and new menu items like the Potion Macchiato, we’re excited to give customers a delicious way to celebrate the spooky season. Whether it’s picking up a Munchkins Bucket for trick-or-treating or sharing festive donuts with friends and family, we’ve got everything needed to make Halloween a little sweeter.”

To continue to celebrate the spookiest season of the year, Dunkin’ has also revamped its beloved Spider Specialty Donut. For years, the sweet treat had an orange frosting, making it a standout for the holiday.

This year, the seasonal donut is topped with purple frosting in a curated attempt to match the Potion Macchiato. To double the fun and sweetness, the bakery item is topped with a Glazed Chocolate Munchkin Donut Hole. The spider’s look is finished with a chocolate drizzle that makes up the spider’s legs and a white drizzle for the eyes.

The company also offers a Halloween Munchkins Bucket. These bakery treats are filled with the customer’s choice of either 25 or 50 munchkins in some of Dunkin’s favorite flavors, including Halloween sprinkle-covered donut holes added to the company’s regular menu of offerings.

The Dunkin’ Halloween treats are available through Oct. 31, 2024.
